Reflecting today on the amazing love that God had for us, in that He sent His only son to suffer & die a cruel & painful death so that we might live. No matter how many movies we watch or how many times we read the story I'm sure our minds will never quite fathom what Jesus truly went through on that Good Friday over 2,000 years ago. Wanted to share these lyrics with you to a song I wrote with a few other writers several years ago that talks about that event that happened so long ago, yet still changes lives today. This song is called "What Stained The Cross" I hope it will speak to your heart today.
"What Stained The Cross"
Written by Jimmy Dooley, Niles Borop & Kelly Garner
VERSE 1:/ As the soldiers took his body down, the blood soaked cross remained, Towering over our lifeless Lord, a symbol of guilt and shame, the blood that flowed out of his veins, trickled down and left its marks, they did not see that crimson flow was reaching for their hearts, they barely saw the loss and little did they know
Chorus: What stained the cross was the blood of Christ, God’s spotless lamb, the perfect sacrifice, redeeming flood the priceless gift of life that saves the lost, that’s what stained the cross
Verse 2:/ Looking back some still don’t  know what happened on that day, to them another prophet that had some good things to say, but millions now with eyes of faith have come to realize, that they were saved by the blood of Christ, that day when Jesus died, The son of God was brought for all the world to see
Chorus:What stained the cross was the blood of Christ, God’s spotless lamb, the perfect sacrifice, redeeming flood the priceless gift of life that saves the lost, that’s what stained the cross
Bridge:/ In all of human history, no greater love was shown than on a cross of Crucifixion, where grace and mercy flowed

Chorus: What stained the cross was the blood of Christ, God’s spotless lamb, the perfect sacrifice, redeeming flood the priceless gift of life that saves the lost, that’s what stained the cross
